Here are my 2 top secret ways of launching your personal website.
- Pick a user-friendly design template provider. I chose the Wix platform because my intuition says that they have well-designed templates. However, I do not like the fact that the URL contains the name of the company. This is easily fixed by purchasing a domain on a hosting site like Go Daddy.
- Ensure unique images. In order to get your site to become valuable in the eyes of Google, images uploaded on the site must be unique. What does this mean? It simply cannot be found anywhere else on the web. Cropping images does not make them unique.
- There are a few ways to create unique images designed to boost rankings in search engine algorithms. If you find a nice stock photo, you can rotate, transverse, or mirror it to create an image that has never been seen before. If the image is quite popular, this technique has already been done. You will have to find another way around it. An alternative approach includes the use of adding a filter to your picture. Filters have been used for ages and often times found on the popular photo sharing mobile application Instagram. You can see some of my filtered photos here.
